hello! my name is milo.
When I was a kid, I was often described as "a sponge that soaks up information" by family and teachers. I was curious and often into things like closets, books, and other people's berry patches. I really liked taking things I learned and drawing/doing it for myself as a way of further understanding it. I would learn about sewing and make my own clothes. I would learn about the process of photosynthesis and obsessively diagram it. When I was seven, I sat at the kitchen table and practiced perspective drawing by drawing a road, because I had been inspired by how it looked on a car ride. I still use my studio practice as a learning tool for what I experience. I like to explore techniques and mark-making so that I may more richly articulate the information I have soaked up.
I live in Maine. I graduated from college with a BFA in Illustration and started Inky Blue, my artist studio. I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2010, and have spent a lot of my life since then learning to balance living with a chronic illness and living my life.
